News this morning that the U.S. economy shrank last quarter may be depressing for some, but it's not getting Democrats down. In fact, Dems are pointing to comments made by chief U.S. economist for Capital Economics Paul Ashworth who declared the economic contraction as "the best-looking contraction in U.S. GDP you'll ever see."
That's one way to spin it, I suppose. It's like polishing a t... well, you know what.
Democratic Party communications director Brad Woodhouse was quick to spread the joyous news via Twitter:
