Ladies, Is This Marriage Proposal by QB Jay Cutler the Most Unromantic You've Heard Of?

Jay Cutler is not the most liked person in football. In fact, he recently made the top five list for least-liked athletes in general. And when you read about the way he proposed to his now-fiance, you might just understand why.

The Chicago Bears quarterback is often panned for his bland demeanor and I-don't-give-a-care attitude. And that characterization is haunting him now that it's been learned how he proposed to Kristin Cavallari in November 2011: a text message. And the ring? He sent it in the mail.

In an interview that will air on E! March 10, Cavallari told the wholly unromantic story.

"It was so silly. I was in the airport, leaving Chicago," Cavallari said. "We had just spent however many days together and we were texting and somehow it came up, like, 'Oh, shall we get married?' We're like, 'Yeah, OK.' And then he sent my ring in the mail. So I actually had my ring sitting at home for a couple of weeks before I put it on."

To be fair, the proposal was the second time he asked her. The couple got engaged for the first time in April 2011, but then called it off three months later.
