Which solid-red state is considering in-state tuition for illegal immigrants?

Indiana?!

The Indiana Senate voted 35-15 Tuesday in favor of a bill that would allow some undocumented students to pay in-state tuition to finish their college educations.

SB 207 makes an exception to a 2011 law that forces undocumented students to pay tuition at out-of-state rates. If the bill is passed by the House and signed into law by the governor, undocumented students enrolled in college prior to July 1, 2011, could complete their courses paying in-state rates.

“I know that the federal immigration system is broken,” said state Sen. Jean Leising, R-Oldenburg said. “We can’t fix that. But we can give a couple hundred kids the chance to finish their education, stay in Indiana and become productive taxpayers.”
