576 Engines Power Each Hand of These 288 Analog Clocks in Trippy Art Installation

Created by engineer David Cox with the studio Human Since 1982, "A Million Times" is composed of 288 simple analog clocks and is controlled by an iPad with customized software.

According to Design Boom, the artwork boasts 576 individual engines that power the hour and minute hands on each clock independently of each other. The hands work together to form a digital time or mesmerizing patterns.

The Stockholm-based studio Humans Since 1982 was created in 2009 by Per Emanuelsson from Sweden and Bastian Bischoff from Germany -- both born in 1982.
