NBC's David Gregory said Friday President Barack Obama really doesn't like the Washington media very much, and that the feeling is "mutual."
Discussing the Bob Woodward-White House "threat" dust up that played itself out this week, Gregory said it's a "reality" in Washington for administrations to push back against media coverage they don't like. Woodward said he had a tense exchange with a top White House aide over his reporting that Obama was actually behind the enacted forced federal budget cuts known as sequestration.
"I think there's a larger issue here, too, and that is that the president does not particularly like the Washington press corps," Gregory said on NBC's "Today." "And I think that feeling is mutual in a lot of respects. And so there's not a great relationship between that Washington establishment and the president. That, too, by the way, is not unprecedented."
