Can Conservative Republicans Flip the U.S. Senate?

South Dakota's Tim Johnson announced Tuesday that he would not seek reelection in 2014 due to health reasons, joining fellow senior Democrats not running for reelection in vulnerable seats next cycle like Carl Levin of Michigan, Tom Harkin of Iowa, Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia and Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey.

With the GOP only six seats away from reclaiming a majority, South Dakota is likely to join the list of top pick-up targets for Republican Senate campaigns in 2014 like Montana, West Virginia, Iowa, Michigan, Arkansas and Louisiana. On 'Real News' Tuesday the panel discussed the chance not only for Republicans to regain control of the Senate, but if conservative candidates will emerge to add to the growing block of fresh-faced constitutional conservatives in the chamber like Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Rand Paul and Tim Scott.
