Republicans launch #TheWasteList to track government spending

The National Republican Congressional Committee has a new web destination for you: TheWasteList.com -- a site to track some of the most egregious cases of wasteful government spending.  You know, in case your day is going a little too well and you need to bring your happy levels down a notch...

The Washington Examiner's Conn Carroll describes it as a "Craigslist of government waste."  No kidding -- take a look:

“Rather than cut ridiculously waste like funding for Robo Squirrels and Mars Menus, Democrats are focused on scaring the American people into thinking Washington can’t cut spending,” NRCC Digital Press Secretary Nick Marcelli told the Examiner. “Both Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer are on record saying Washington doesn’t have a spending problem. It’s no wonder they won’t work to cut wasteful spending. TheWasteList.com shows concrete examples of things Washington is wasting your money on every day.”

Since its launch, TheWasteList.com has tracked more than $18 billion in wasteful spending, including taxpayer-subsidized cupcakes, dancing robots and international vacations for pro athletes.
