Whoops: Cory Booker Misspeaks Once -- Then Twice -- About Gun Death Numbers

"Sorry again."

Newark, N.J. Mayor Cory Booker quickly copped to "misspeaking" on ABC's "This Week" Sunday about the number of deaths from gun violence -- then issued a follow-up to correct his correction.

Booker, a major Twitter user, tweeted Sunday morning that he'd been wrong about the number of daily gun deaths:

Two minutes later, he was back with this note:

Booker emerged as something of a Democratic Party rock star last year and has said he will formally announce his candidacy for the U.S. Senate this fall.
