The home page of the Drudge Report Wednesday features a link to an AP story on former South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford winning the Republican primary for a U.S. House seat race. Accompanying that link, a photo...
Sanford infamously resigned as chair of the Republican Governors Association. In the Drudge photo, Sanford appears to eye an attractive woman at his Tuesday victory rally. The Drudge headline refers to Sanford as "philandering." The woman is Maria Belen Chapur, once Sanford's affair, now his fiancee.
Sanford is set to face-off against Elizabeth Colbert Busch in the general election. Busch is the sister of comedian Stephen Colbert.
Correction: The original version of this post incorrectly stated that Sanford resigned from his governorship in 2009. He did not. He resigned as chair of the Republican Governors Association but served out his term as governor of South Carolina.
