Rand Paul lands TIME's '100 Most Influential' cover

TIME has released its "100 Most Influential People in the World" list with seven different covers for the magazine's latest issue. One of them features Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) whose entry in the list was written by former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

Palin's words:

His brand of libertarian-leaning conservatism attracts young voters, and recently he inspired the nation with his Capraesque filibuster demanding basic answers about our use of drones. I sent him some caribou jerky from Alaska to help keep up his strength on the Senate floor. There’s more where that came from for this bold Senator with 20/20 vision willing to take a stand for liberty.

Rapper Jay-Z is made one of the other six covers. His entry was written by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg. "In nearly everything he’s tried, he’s found success. (He even put a ring on Beyoncé)," wrote Bloomberg. "And in doing so, he’s proved that the American Dream is alive and well."
