Where Were the Boston Bombing Suspects Heading Next?

Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis told CBS’ “Face the Nation” Sunday that authorities found the Boston bombing suspects in possession of an arsenal of homemade explosives that suggested they planned to attack again. But where?

The New York Times reported an official saying the man held hostage for a time before being released by suspects Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev Friday after they stole his Mercedes-Benz SUV said  the brothers told him they were heading for New York. What they planned to do there, the hostage wasn't told.

“We have reason to believe, based upon the evidence that was found at that scene – the explosions, the explosive ordnance that was unexploded and the firepower that they had – that they were going to attack other individuals,” Davis said on Face the Nation. “That’s my belief at this point.”

Authorities were tracing where these weapons were obtained. Cambridge Police Commissioner Robert Haas in an interview with the Associated Press Sunday said neither 26-year-old Tamerlan Tsarnaev, who was killed Thursday in a shootout in Watertown, Massachusetts with police, nor his younger brother, 19-year-old  Dzhokhar Tsarnaev who was taken into custody late Friday after being found hiding in a boat, had permits to carry firearms.
