"Give me liberty of give me death!"

The commotion was apparent outside the 2013 NRA convention press room. Someone was shouting. Many members of the media, including this author, scrambled to see what was going on. We were met by Tampa Bay's Harry McKay screaming at the top of his lungs.

But Mr. McKay wasn't delivering a pro or anti-gun rant. He was delivering a speech. A very famous one. McKay, you see, is a historical actor who came to the convention on a "whim" and decided to deliver Patrick Henry's famous "give me liberty or give me death" speech.

TheBaze started rolling part way through, and we've included it below:

He followed it up by pointing out that Henry at the time was trying to raise up a Virginia militia.

McKay told us that he has had some theater training, and tries to embody how Henry may have been feeling at the time.

As for gun control, he said that our leaders took an oath to defend the Constitution. And if they want new measures, the answer is simple: pass an amendment.
