Piers Morgan Bans Dana Loesch From His Show Following Twitter Spat: 'Show Some Bloody Respect

"You think the beheading of a soldier is something to be glib about?"

It doesn't look like conservative commentator Dana Loesch will be appearing on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight" anytime in the near future. Following a Twitter spat, the controversial host derided Loesch, then publicly banned her from his television show.

The intriguing back-and-forth launched after the conservative writer and radio host tweeted a message about the recent machete attack that killed a British soldier in London. She wrote, "Was the guy with the machete a member of the NRA? Asking for a friend." This comment was reportedly in reference to one of the two men responsible for the terror attack.

Upon seeing the tweet, Morgan became agitated and responded. That's when a contentious back-and-forth progressed -- one that left the television host so frustrated that he decided to unfollow Loesch on Twitter and simultaneously ban her from his show.

"You think the beheading of a soldier is something to be glib about?," Morgan responded.

Here's the dialogue between Loesch and the CNN host, as compiled by Mediaite:

Dana Loesch: Was the guy with the machete a member of the NRA? Asking for a friend.

Piers Morgan: You think the beheading of a soldier is something to be glib about??? > RT @DLoeschWas the guy with the machete a member of the NRA?

Dana Loesch: As opposed to you calling me Nancy Lanza because I stood up for 2A rights? Get real, @piersmorgan.

Piers Morgan: No @DLoesch – there is a time to shut up with stupid political wisecracks, and this is one of those times. Show some bloody respect.

Dana Loesch: That’s rich coming from you, @piersmorgan . You stood on the graves of children and attacked my family. Get some consistency.

Piers Morgan: Can’t stomach @DLoesch goading Brits with her outrageous tweeting re beheaded soldier story. Unfollowed, and banned from my show.

Following his last message banning Loesch from "Piers Morgan Tonight," the television host ceased his debate with the conservative commentator. As of this morning, he has not mentioned Loesch again on Twitter.

But that hasn't stopped the fall-out from the public clash. Loesch received a plethora of horrific responses from people who called her unpalatable every name in the book. She later responded to Morgan by noting that she has always shown him respect, even when he has purportedly insulted her.

She also clarified some things, making the point that, rather than making light of the machete situation or making a "glib" quip, she was speaking to the issue of soldiers being able to defend themselves. "There are a lot of people who want me to die because I think soldiers should be protected and able to defend themselves," she wrote, as insults and death wishes streamed in following her debate with Morgan.

Loesch's Twitter feed shows some of the most grotesque and horrific responses.

While Morgan halted his public debate with Loesch, it seems there was another conservative he wanted to decry, as he responded to a tweet that author Ann Coulter sent in the wake of the London attack.

The popular commentator wrote, "Liberals still hoping London machete attack was committed by a white guy." Morgan called her quip "breathtakingly moronic."

For now, it seems Morgan's furor against Loesch has concluded. We'll have to see later today if he picks up where he left off.
