Video: MSNBC's Harris-Perry compares Gitmo detention with American slavery
May 27, 2013
MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry -- you know, of "your kids aren't really yours" fame -- is causing more stir these days with even more radical on-air commentary.
On Saturday, the proud "communist" explained how inmates held at the detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba are really just like modern-day American slaves. The detainees being held on suspicions of terrorism have been "stripped of their humanity," Perry explained, "something we certainly know about from the experience of American slavery."
Yeah -- I remember learning in my American history classes all about how slaves were housed in "first-rate" facilities with television, movies, newspapers, books, a library, teachers, Sodoku puzzles and round-the-clock medical treatment. Uh-huh. The ignorance is profound.
When one of her guests tried to interject with a response to her comments, Harris-Perry cut to commercial. Go figure.
