With the death of 89-year-old Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.), that leaves an open seat in the Senate for Gov. Chris Christie to fill with an appointee. Fox News anchor Geraldo Rivera would do it if he's asked.
"I think it’s a very, very long shot that Gov. Christie would even think of me, appointing me. I haven’t been vetted," Rivera said on his radio show Monday. "I’ve only kind of toyed with the idea of running."
Rivera, who did consider running as a New Jersey Republican for the Senate earlier this year, was responding to a question posed by The Daily Caller.
Rivera added that he would "definitely take the call" if Christie wanted to appoint him.
