Megyn Kelly Soon Won't Be on Your TV in the Afternoons Anymore, But...

Bret Baier, Shepard Smith, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity and Greta Van Susteren signed to long-term deals.

Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly is moving to primetime, the network announced Tuesday.

Kelly, currently the host of "America Live" from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. ET, will make the jump after she returns from maternity leave, according to a press release. Fox has signed long-term deals with Bret Baier, Shepard Smith, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity and Greta Van Susteren.

"Megyn is an exceptional talent who has successfully filled and surpassed each role we have given her at the network," Fox News chief Roger Ailes said in a statement. "Her ability to command the screen, delve into the facts and lead a debate is what makes her one of the most sought-after anchors in the business."

Kelly's profile has risen significantly over the past year, including co-anchoring Fox's election night coverage with Bret Baier in November.

"Roger Ailes hired me nine years ago when I was new to this business and he had little other than instinct to suggest it might work out. I was grateful to him then, remain so today, and am excited for this next opportunity," Kelly said.

Fox did not announce a new show for Kelly or indicate whose time slot she will take, saying only that a new schedule will be revealed at a later date. As The New York Times reported, there has been speculation around Greta Van Susteren, the 10 p.m. host, whose "future role is not certain at this point" despite her contract extension.

In response to the "rumors," Van Susteren took to her Fox News blog Tuesday to declare she is "not going anywhere."

"I have a long term contract with Fox News Channel  and it is for a daily cable news show in 'prime time,'" she wrote. "Done, ok?  (And by the way, don’t you love the courage of the anonymous sources? and those who then speculate from there? )"
