Obama White House goes to embarrassing lengths to defend Valerie Jarrett
July 03, 2013
According to a soon-to-be-released book by author Mark Leibovich, the Obama White House worked overtime in the run-up to a New York Times profile piece on longtime Obama family friend and advisor Valerie Jarrett last September.
According to Buzzfeed, Leibovich even got his hands on a copy of an internal White House memo titled, "The Magic of Valerie," which outlined talking points for staffers to bolster's Jarrett's image for the Times.
Some of them are unintentionally hilarious, including this one (emphasis mine):
“Valerie is someone here who other people inside the building know they can trust. (need examples.)”
