Zimmerman defense: Rachel Jeantel 'more amiable' in Piers Morgan interview

Mark O'Mara, defense attorney for George Zimmerman, said on CNN Tuesday night that trial witness Rachel Jeantel was "more engaging" and "amiable" in her interview with Piers Morgan than she had been during the trial.

"Certainly last night she was more engaging, more straightforward, more amiable," O'Mara said on Piers Morgan Live. "I'm not sure why she started out with the attitude that she obviously did in the trial, but certainly some of what she could have said was lost on the jury through the attitude."

Jeantel was the star witness for the prosecution and last person to have spoken to Trayvon Martin before he was killed by Zimmerman. Zimmerman was acquitted of all charges in the case.

When cross-examined by defense attorney Don West during the trial, Jeantel appeared irritable, sometimes lashing out at West and criticizing his questioning of her.
