Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has a feeling Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) will face a tough primary challenge from a Tea Party member, POLITICO reports.

“He tried to make love to the Tea Party, and they didn’t like it,” Sen. Reid said at a Monday event hosted by the pro-Obama nonprofit Organizing for Action.

The Nevada Senator told his audience that Democrats plan on maintaining their majority in the Senate and that they hope to take back the House.

“We have to have enough [members] to stop McConnell and what he doesn’t do,” he said.

Sen. Reid was followed by Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) who reminded the crowd that George Washington warned of political factions that are “at war with their own government,” as POLITICO puts it.

“Does that sound familiar?” Rep. Pelosi said to thunderous applause from her adoring sycophants.

She continued, claiming that Democrats are always willing to “work across the aisle.”

“We have always been bipartisan,” the California Congresswoman. Americans “expect us to do it in the bipartisan way. They expect us to get the job done.”
