NY Post stands by NBC, CNN's Hillary specials

Support for Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus' call for NBC and CNN to nix their planned specials based on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has come from some unexpected corners.

One of those corners is not the New York Post, which is fairly conservative in its opinion pages.

The Post wrote in one of its Wednesday editorials:

We don’t accept the argument that there should be restrictions on the right to broadcast or advertise any film, even a fawning one, during a campaign. That’s the Obama argument. Now it’s being used against Hillary.

"The Obama argument" is a reference to President Obama's criticism of a 2010 Supreme Court ruling that declared it unconstitutional for the Federal Election Commission to restrict independent political expenditures by corporations and other politically active groups.
