Responding to Fox News anchor Bill O'Reilly's criticism from Thursday, MSNBC's Al Sharpton told the Huffington Post that O'Reilly should "man up and grow up because he needs to understand that just because you make a donation does not mean that people cannot disagree."
O'Reilly had previously said on his show that "a few years ago" he donated $25,000 to a New York-based charity of Sharpton's. O'Reilly, who has been in a public fued with Sharpton over race as of late, made the revelation "to prove exactly what kind of person Sharpton is."
"I think it really shows exactly what I've been saying all along," Sharpton told HuffPost. "When Mr. O'Reilly started attacking me after my question of the Zimmerman verdict, he started talking about the grievance industry and that i was a racial huckster, never telling people he knew better and that he was a contributor of mine... If I was huckster, why would he contribute to me?"
