Conservative pundit Mark Steyn won't rule out a run for U.S. Senate in New Hampshire just yet, after a petition asking him to jump in the race was launched on Friday.
Instead, Steyn, a frequent guest host for Rush Limbaugh, laughed off the idea when it was surprisingly proposed to him by talk show host Hugh Hewitt on Thursday night.

"Don't get me wrong, I love this state," Steyn said, fighting off laughter over the notion he would run for U.S. Senate. "Certainly I regret that Jeanne Shaheen was able to defeat John Sununu."
Steyn joked that some of his past comments might render him too politically incorrect for a national campaign.
"One of the great things about writers running is they have hostages to fortune," he said. "They don't just have one damaging quote, they've like half a century of quotes."
Unmoved, Hewitt on Friday announced an online petition, SteynforSenate.com, aimed at encouraging Steyn to run.
Users on Twitter also expressed their support.
