A Chinese man being evicted from his set-to-be-demolished home delayed the process by fending off wrecking crews and officers with small explosives.

According to QTV (via Google Translate), the man's home in the Laoshan District was in the way of an overpass that was to be constructed as part of a project for the 2014 World Horticultural Expo.

More than 100 law enforcement officers showed up to remove the man before the forced demolition, but he defended his home as best he could, throwing small, firework-like bombs.

The man wanted to be compensated "in accordance with the standard residential demolition," according to QTV.

Eventually, law enforcement found a friend of the man, who persuaded him to leave the property. QTV reported that his personal possessions were emptied from the home and the house was demolished.
