Rush Limbaugh Eviscerates Media: Thrill Kill of White Athlete Is 'Trayvon Martin in Reverse, Only Worse

"This is nowhere near self-defense...this was cold-blooded, first-degree, recreational, for the fun of it because they were bored, murder."• Jesse Jackson tweets: "This senseless violence is frowned upon"

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh went after the mainstream media over its shallow coverage of the racial details in the Oklahoma shooting of student Chris Lane "for the fun of it." On his radio show Wednesday, he said the case is like "Trayvon Martin in reverse, only worse."

"This is nowhere near self-defense...this was cold-blooded, first-degree, recreational, for the fun of it because they were bored, murder," Limbaugh said.

As TheBlaze previously reported, Lane, a 22-year-old Australian student and baseball player, was shot by three teenagers who were reportedly bored. Two of the suspects are black and one is white.

James Edwards, 15, and Chancey Luna, 16, were reportedly charged with first degree murder and face life in prison if convicted. They are being held without bond. Michael Jones, 17, was reportedly charged with using a vehicle to facilitate the discharge of a weapon and accessory after the fact of murder in the first degree.

“No matter where you look in the media, it’s not a racial event. This is the epitome of media irresponsibility," Limbaugh reflected. "This is a classic illustration of just what role the mainstream media is playing in the destruction of American culture and society."

The radio host went on to say that "there has been more outrage in the mainstream media to that stupid clown story at the Missouri State Fair than there has been to this wanton murder in Oklahoma."

Limbaugh also claimed he conducted his own "experiment" to see how long it would take the media to report on the story, and then how it would cover the story.

“It took them 24 hours!” he proclaimed, later adding: “They are reporting it and letting it go. They’re not paying much attention to it at all, they're not focusing on the racial component of any of the people involved in this. We have not heard from the Reverend Sharpton, the Reverend Jackson, the NAACP, we haven’t heard from anybody!"

"There has not been anywhere near the outrage, the intensity even that we got on this state fair clown story," he added.

Jackson weighed in on the case Wednesday morning, tweeting: "Praying for the family of Chris Lane. This senseless violence is frowned upon and the justice system must prevail."

Limbaugh also noted that the Facebook page of one of the accused killers includes the "worship" of rappers and rap lyrics about "killing people."

TheBlaze has also highlighted a number of pictures, videos and comments from one of the accused shooter's social media pages.

“Yet we don’t hear one peep about curtailing the violence that is celebrated in rap and the rest of the thug culture,” the radio host said. "Instead, they earn millions of dollars…they are chosen to endorse products all over this country. It's destructive as it can be. It's excused by the left because they tell us it's culture."

"It's worse than a double standard. This is a purposeful, willful ignoring of the exact racial components but in reverse that happened in the Trayvon Martin shooting," he continued. "From Obama on down, didn't care about Trayvon Martin. All that mattered was that incident offered them an opportunity to advance a political agenda."
