One arrest has been made in the death of a World War II veteran after he was severely beaten in a parking lot in Washington state, Spokane police said Friday.
"Spokane police have arrested one suspect, a juvenile male, in connection to the beating death of an 88-year-old man earlier this week," the police department confirmed on Facebook.
The suspect will face charges of first-degree robbery and first-degree murder, the Spokane Spokesman-Review reported.
Delbert Belton was found beaten with head injuries in the parking lot of an Eagles Lodge Wednesday night where he had apparently been waiting for a friend. He died of his injuries Thursday, and police released images of two male suspects Thursday night.
