The fight occurred around 7 a.m. at Spring High School in the Houston area, according to The Houston Chronicle. Sheriff's deputies said one person died at the scene and the others were transported to the hospital. Two of the injured were hospitalized with minor injuries and the third was listed in good condition, according to the Associated Press. KHOU-TV reported one of those hurt was a 16-year-old boy.
Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia told the AP all persons involved in the fight were students in the school district.
"There is some information that this may have been gang related," Garcia told the Chronicle.
KHOU reported two men were seen in handcuffs outside the school.
It was unclear what exactly triggered the confrontation.
