Police Arrest 'Spiderman' For Allegedly Trying to Rob a Store

Say goodbye to your not-so-friendly neighborhood Spiderman.

Police in Oakland, Pa., arrested a man dressed as Spiderman Friday morning after he allegedly tried to rob a convenience store.

Just let that sentence sink in for a second:

Law enforcement officials say Jonathan Hewson, 21, entered an Atwood Xpress convenience store early Friday morning and demanded the clerk tell him how much cash was in the register.

The clerk didn't feel like playing along and instead used a stun gun to chase Hewson out of the shop:

Hewson’s roommate, however, said the whole thing is a big mix-up.

“He’s not doing anything malicious. I don’t think he’s every considered robbing a store, ever,” said Chris Esposito.

“He’s a Spiderman enthusiast. He’s just a college kid and college kids tend to do strange things,” he said.

But the police see it differently. Hewson was quickly arrested and now faces robbery charge.
