Video: Zoo Owner Accused of Attacking Reporter for Trying to Interview Him

"Fists are suddenly flying."

A Las Vegas zoo owner is accused of attacking a reporter on camera who was trying to interview him Tuesday.

Video shows KSNV-TV reporter Amber Dixon knocking on owner Pat Dingle's door before he appears to answer and then slam it.

According to KSNV's account, 13 seconds pass in the dark for the news crew before the door opens again and "Dingle’s fists are suddenly flying." In the video, Dingle is heard telling the crew to leave his house.

Dingle was issued a citation for misdemeanor battery, a Las Vegas police spokeswoman told the Las Vegas Sun.

Dingle's zoo was closed to the public earlier this week. Former zookeepers have since spoken out to say the facility was poorly maintained.

Dixon told TVSpy her left shoulder and left side of her neck were sore after the encounter but that she was otherwise OK.
