HORROR: Graphic Video Captures Monster Truck Mowing Down Crowd, Killing 8, Wounding Dozens

"The truck came directly at where we were."

An out-of-control monster truck slammed into an air show crowd in Mexico on Saturday, killing at least eight, including a child, and wounding upwards of 80 individuals, an official said.

Carlos Gonzalez, spokesman for the Chihuahua state prosecutor's office, told NBC News that the driver appeared to have lost control of the vehicle. Witnesses say the driver hit his head during the demonstration.

"The driver hit his head and his helmet flew off," witness Daniel Dominguez reportedly said. "The truck came directly at where we were."

The horror was captured on film and uploaded to YouTube Sunday.

"I fell over, and when I turned around I saw the tire very close. It hit me and threw me to the other side," Jesus Manuel Ibarra, who was injured during the episode, told NBC News.

The city's Facebook page posted a message from Mayor Marco Adán Quezada Martínez shortly after the incident.

"Unfortunate what happened this day in Aeroshow, is a very deep grief we feel all our sympathy to the families of the deceased, who were injured and are being treated and will be watching the evolution of your health," a translation of his message said, according to Google Translator. "This event was created to strengthen the family union and coexistence, so that is suspended , you can not continue in a moment of deep pain for everyone."

The city also turned to their public health department's Facebook page to ask individuals to donate blood.
