Blogger on Far-Left Website Thought He 'Could Go Along' With Obamacare – Now He Can't Believe What's Happening to His Health Insurance

"What the hell kind of reform is this?"

As the realities of Obamacare continue to sink in, more and more people are getting letters from their health insurance providers telling them that their plans no longer comply with federal requirements under Obamacare. We just brought you the story of "Trick Shot Titus" and his family facing significant increases in the cost of their health care plans.

Now, a community blogger on the far-left Daily Kos website has penned a blog post complaining that both he and his wife are facing a nearly 100 percent increase in their monthly premiums. He claims he is canceling his insurance and refuses to pay any "f***ing penalty."

Blogger "Tirge Caps" explains:

My wife and I just got our updates from Kaiser telling us what our 2014 rates will be. Her monthly has been $168 this year, mine $150. We have a high deductible. We are generally healthy people who don't go to the doctor often. I barely ever go. The insurance is in case of a major catastrophe.

Well, now, because of Obamacare, my wife's rate is gong to $302 per month and mine is jumping to $284.

I am canceling insurance for us and I am not paying any f***ing penalty. What the hell kind of reform is this?

The blogger also notes he and his wife may qualify for some "government assistance," but that it's just "another hoop" to jump through to get assistance that he may or may not be eligible for.

"I never felt too good about how this was passed and what it entailed, but I figured if it saved Americans money, I could go along with it," he admits. "I don't know what to think now. This appears, in my experience, to not be a reform for the people."

"What am I missing?"

Realizing that most of the readers on the Daily Kos are supporters of President Barack Obama, "Tirge Caps" acknowledged that "I will probably get screamed at for posting this, but I can't imagine I am the only Californian who received a rate increase from Kaiser based on these new laws."

And he was right about people going after him.

Despite being an active blogger on the Daily Kos with 62 blog posts, many commenters accused him of being a "troll" just trying to discredit Obamacare.

Others claimed it wasn't Obamacare that was increasing his premiums, it was the insurance company, Kaiser.

"wah! wah! I hate Obamcare!  You sound like Ted Cruz," one commenter wrote.

"You can't blame Obamacare because you selected substandard insurance. And remember, those who have no insurance at all will be getting a 100% premium increase. However, the vast majority of them are grateful they can finally get insurance," another wrote.

Now, just because the blogger is active on the far-left Daily Kos, it doesn't necessarily means he is far-left himself. His political affiliation is unknown at this point, though he seems to have little to gain by making up a story about his health insurance on a site that has been very supportive of Obamacare. It should also be noted that the Daily Kos has many community bloggers that do not necessarily reflect the views of the site itself.

Just in case the post is scrubbed off the Daily Kos, here's a screengrab (Warning: Some strong language):
