Conservative author and commentator Ann Coulter during a contentious interview with CNN’s Piers Morgan Wednesday night revealed that Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) is her “favorite Democrat.”
Her comments were made during a larger discussion on the GOP, its supposedly low polling numbers, and freshman Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas).
Coulter believes recent polls that show low approval ratings for the GOP are “pure propaganda” and said that Republicans needs to follow through on their fights with Democrats. She cited freshman Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) as an example of a principled fighter within the GOP.
But Morgan wondered whether the Texas senator could actually be a “real force” in American politics. Coulter said she believes the party is lucky to have people like Sen. Cruz fighting on its side.
In the middle of their discussion, breaking news came in that former Newark Mayor Cory Booker had been elected senator. The conversation between Morgan and Coulter shifted in that direction.
The conservative commentator called Booker her “favorite Democrat in the country,” but added that her admiration for him will depend on how he performs in the U.S. Senate:
