Former NSA and CIA spy Chief Michael Hayden was talking off-the-record to reporters Thursday on the Acela train between Washington, D.C. and New York City. However, Hayden didn't realize that sitting behind him was Tom Matzzie, a political strategist who used to run the D.C. branch of MoveOn.org Political Action.
According to Matzzie's tweets, Hayden was bashing the Obama administration, on background, of course.
Mattzie, whose twitter handle is @tommatzzie, was reporting the interview in real time to his followers and now to everyone else who reads this or the original story, which was put in a Washington Post blog on Thursday afternoon.
