May God Have Mercy on You!': The Alleged Note a Couple Left a Gay Waiter Instead of a Tip

"Queers do not share in the wealth of God."

A Kansas couple allegedly stiffed their waiter this week because they said they could not “in good conscious” support him and his sexual orientation.

“Thank you for your service, it was excellent,” the customers reportedly scribbled on their receipt, according to KCTV. “That being said, we cannot in good conscience tip you, for your homosexual lifestyle is an affront to God.”

“Queers do not share in the wealth of God, and you will not share in ours. We hope you will see the tip your fag choices made you lose out on, and plan accordingly. It is never too late for GOD’S love, but none shall be spared for fags. May God have mercy on you,” the alleged note adds.

The 20-year-old waiter works alongside his mother, who is a hostess, at a Carrabba's Italian Grill in Overland Park, Kansas.

His mother was understandably upset when she learned about the note:

Both the server and his mother declined to comment on the note and have instead referred the media to Carrabba's management.

"We embrace diversity and believe in treating everyone with respect," the company said in a statement.

The company has not yet said if it would take action against the couple if they return to the restaurant.

News of the couple’s alleged note spread quickly on the Internet. Needless to say, it has been poorly received.

“We will allow you to serve us our food and beverages and cater to our every need for the entirety of our meal. And when you are finished, we will stiff you on the tip and call you a fag,” New York Magazine’s Dan Amira wrote, pointing out the couple’s alleged inconsistency. “Because our consciences are just that strong.”
