Meet the NRA's Newest Commentator & How He Aims to Speak For Young People

The National Rifle Association announced on Monday that Austin Weiss, famous for owning custom vehicle auto-shop "The Garage," will join their team as a contributor.

"Meet the newest NRA News Commentator Austin Weiss, a guy with an affinity for beautifully crafted machines who splits his time between designing custom-built cars and motorcycles and taking a stand for firearms and the Second Amendment," the NRA said.

Weiss said in an announcement video that he aims to be a spokesman for the younger generation.

"There's a lot of younger generation individuals that agree with what I have to say but don't know how to say it," he said. "I think there needs to be a leader or somebody that people can relate to in their age bracket that they understand."

"There's a lot of people that want to like guns, but don't want to like guns publicly, so they do it kind of privately," Weiss added, noting his posts on social media that include firearms average a lot more "likes" than others.
