This Is All A Dem. Rep. Could Come Up with When Pushed to Defend Obama's 'You Can Keep It' Insurance Promise
November 05, 2013
"Hyperbole."
One Democratic congressman's response about President Barack Obama's widely disputed promise that people who like their insurance can keep it under the Affordable Care Act?
"We're all human."
Rep. Jim Moran (D-Va.) was pressed Tuesday to defend the president’s oft-repeated vow, which has come under heavy fire amid reports that millions of Americans have been told they're being kicked off their current private health plans because they're not acceptable under Obamacare.
“Presidents tend to engage in a little hyperbole,” Moran said on MSNBC.
“We’re all human,” he said, adding that Obama was “rightfully excited” about the massive health care law when he repeatedly promised that people could keep their plans and doctors.
