Putin tops Obama on 'Most Influential' list

Another power list has ranked Russia President Vladimir Putin higher than President Obama. This time, it's AskMen.com's "Top 49 Men" list, which ranks "the most influential" men around the world.

Of Putin, who was placed at No. 11 on the list, the online magazine says:

Putin's hard line against Obama on Syria has emerged as one of the most important international-relations stories of the year. Long dismissed as attention-seeking ... and corrupt, Putin is now perceived with greater legitimacy ... and is emblematic of the shift in power from West to East.

Six spots down is Obama at No. 17. "His steady hand in the face of GOP adversity," his entry says, "makes it seem like the commander-in-chief was the real winner of the [government] shutdown."

In its annual "Most Powerful People in the World" ranking this year, Forbes also placed Putin above Obama. He was listed in the No. 1 spot and Obama was placed at No. 2.
