This Is What Happens When a Frustrated TV Reporter Doesn't Realize Her Mic Is Live
November 13, 2013
"We apologize..."
A reporter with an NBC affiliate in Detroit angrily dropped an "f-bomb" live on the air Wednesday, apparently while she thought her mic was off.
Anchors with a WDIV-TV morning show attempted to bring in reporter Lauren Podell for a live report at the scene of a fire, but the crew was seemingly having technical difficulties. The frustration led Podell to go on a mini-tirade:
"I don’t have IFB, I don’t know when we’re going, neither does Jim, I can’t get this f***ing in there!"
Both WDIV-TV anchors apologized profusely for the on-air expletive and did their best to recover.
