Trophy hunter and U.S. television host Melissa Bachman ignited controversy this week after posting a picture showing her posing over a dead lion she had slain in South Africa earlier this month.

“An incredible day hunting in South Africa! Stalked inside 60-yards on this beautiful male lion…what a hunt!" she tweeted from her now deleted account, attaching a picture of her kneeling over the dead adult lion.

The picture was posted online Nov. 1, but only attracted attention this past week. Bachman has posted countless other pictures online showing her with other dead animals.

She is the host of "Winchester Daily Passion" which airs on the Pursuit Channel, available on DISH and DirectTV. According to The Telegraph, she describes herself as a "hardcore huntress."

As of publication, over 11,000 individuals have signed a petition asking the government of South Africa to "deny future entry" to Bachman, despite her actions being legal in the African country.

"Melissa Bachman has made a career out of hunting wildlife, for pure sport," the petition says.

"She is an absolute contradiction to the culture of conservation, this country prides itself on," it continues. "Her latest Facebook post features her with a lion she has just executed and murdered in our country."

"It's tragic that this vile woman is allowed to hunt such beautiful animals for her own bit of fun," wrote Tracey Sinott on the petition's website.

"This is inhumane," added Joe McPhee. "I can't even fully express how much this upsets and disappoints me."

Others were more vile.

"I hope someone smiles like her, when someone kills slowly and painfully," said a user going by "WolverHampton."

"Nothing should be killed for sport, maybe except this woman," echoed user "BourneMouth."
