Boyfriend Turns His Marriage Proposal Nightmare Into One of the Cutest Pop-the-Question Videos

"I decided to scrap my original plan…and at the last minute give her a night of surprises."

The time spent looking for the perfect ring. The thought put in to plotting the perfect location. The heart put in to the perfect speech.

Then the heartbreaking moment a soon-to-be fiance finds out his secret has been revealed. She expects a ring, knows the highly anticipated question of "Will you marry me?" is coming.

What's a boyfriend to do? Continue on as planned? Come up with something spontaneous?

This is the dilemma one man faced and he decided he would make his girlfriend sweat.

"I decided to scrap my original plan …and at the last minute give her a night of surprises," the boyfriend wrote in his YouTube video documenting the event.

The boyfriend puts his girlfriend, Summer, through various scenarios in which it might look like he's about to propose but then he doesn't. He pulls the old kneeling down only to tie his shoe trick and makes a proclamation in the middle of a restaurant -- no popping of the question.

At one point Summer reveals that she knows what her boyfriend is doing.

"So now you're going to make me wonder when it's going to happen?" Summer asked.

The boyfriend responds as if he doesn't know what she's talking about.

We won't spoil how he actually proposes so you can experience some of the anticipation with Summer:
