As the first year of President Barack Obama’s second term comes to a close, it’s time to look back at some of the more memorable quotes from the White House and its key allies.

From Vice President Joe Biden encouraging Americans to “buy a shotgun” to Secretary of State John Kerry referring to an “unbelievably small strike” in Syria, 2013 was full of countless “pearls of inanity and incoherence,” as the Washington Free Beacon put it.
