"Our little angel on earth earned her pink glittery angel wings in heaven."
Delaney "Laney" Brown, the terminally ill 8-year-old girl that inspired thousands to sing her Christmas carols in the cold streets of West Reading, Pennsylvania over the weekend, died overnight.
"Our little angel on earth earned her pink glittery angel wings in heaven," a post on the "Team Laney" Facebook page said. "She took her last breath at home in her bed at 3:10 surrounded by all her family and friends. I miss her so much already."
Post by Team Laney.
Laney was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia in May. Last Tuesday, her parents announced on Facebook that the 8-year-old only has days or weeks to live.
On Saturday, thousands of carolers aiming to satisfy her dying wish to hear the community sing Christmas carols streamed to her house to sing to her.
The group had ended with “Happy Birthday,” since Laney had just turned 8-years-old the night before.
