Michelle Obama plans 'snacks & sips & dancing & dessert' party

First Lady Michelle Obama is getting ready to celebrate her 50th birthday in January. According to reports, the celebration will include a soiree at the White House, complete with "snacks & sips & dancing & dessert."

Sources told the Chicago Tribune, which first reported the story, that the White House has begun sending out save-the-date invitations for the bash. Guests have been told to wear comfortable schools and be ready to hit the dance floor.

Michelle Obama hinted earlier this year that her birthday celebration would involve dancing.

"I’m not exactly sure yet what I’m going to do, but it might involve some dancing," she said during a visit to a children’s hospital earlier this month.

She added that she was looking forward to turning “50 and fabulous.”
