Suspected Burglar Really Didn't Know Whose House He Was Breaking Into…and It Cost Him His Life

A suspected burglar was shot dead after he tried to break into the home of an off-duty Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper on Friday night.

Police say the criminal was caught trying to enter the home in Deep Deuce, Okla., when he was confronted by the armed off-duty cop. The trooper reportedly opened fire, critically wounding the suspect. Neither the suspect nor the officer has been identified.

The home intruder was then transported to OU Medical Center where he was pronounced dead

KWTV reports that police also responded to another shooting at the One Shop store on the "southeast side of the metro at around the same time."

Both shootings remain under investigation.
