34 Years Ago Today, I Was Murdered': Twitter Account Speaks From Beyond the Grave

"You killed me and got away with murder for 34 years. I know you're reading this."

"34 years ago today, I was murdered. I was 14 and had my entire life to live. My family is still looking for my killer."

These are the words of a tweet posted Tuesday on an unusual account with the handle @BillComeans.

Bill Comeans, as the first tweet on the account indicated, was murdered 34 years ago on Jan. 7, 1980.

The account is part of an effort by the family of Comeans to try and find new leads that could help solve the cold case.

"I was sitting there thinking, what else can be done? What haven't I tried?" Comeans sister, Kathleen Comeans, who was 9 years old when her brother was found dead, told WBNS-TV.

"I don't want him to be forgotten," she continued.  "Whoever murdered him is out there, so somebody knows something, and Bill's got a story to tell, and we'll use whatever means to tell it."

According to WBNS, Bill Comeans, 14 years old when he died, was found by his father only a block from his family's Columbus home. He had been strangled with his own scarf and died at a local hospital.

Here are a few more tweets from the family-run Twitter account that is speaking with Bill Comeans' voice from beyond the grave.

Kathleen Comeans also created a memorial for her brother on Facebook and posted a video tribute for him on YouTube:

Though Franklin County Sheriff's Department told WBNS it has no new leads on the case, last year detectives began the process of conducting DNA analysis of a knife found near Comeans' body.
