Yes, This Chihuahua Actually Drove a Car — You Can Probably Guess How It Ended

“I was shocked, I didn't know if I was crazy..."

Tabitha Ormaechea was perplexed and unsure if she was hallucinating when she noticed a tiny Chihuahua alone behind the wheel of a car that had just rear ended her.

The Washington State woman was driving home earlier this month when a vehicle struck her at a red light. At first she didn't notice anyone inside the offending car. Then she couldn't believe what she saw.

“When I looked up, there was no one in the car, just a little dog up on the steering wheel peeking over looking at me,” Ormaechea told KREM-TV.

“I was shocked, I didn't know if I was crazy, or if this little dog had taken a joy ride,” she added.

As it turns out, that's exactly what had just happened.

“I didn't know what to think," the dog's owner, Jason Martinez, told the local CBS affiliate. "Someone just ran into the store and asked if anyone has a gold car and I said, 'Yeah, me why.'"

Eventually, Martinez was able to come up with an explanation for the bizarre set of events.

“He must have knocked it out of gear and the car rolled out," he said.
