Stop everything you’re doing and watch the following video. It’s exactly what you need to get into the spirit of the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.
Originally posted to Facebook by a user named Michelle Johnson, the video features 18 floors of high school students in a Louisville, Ky., hotel, getting into the Olympic spirit by singing the U.S. national anthem in perfect harmony.
“So, I’m in Kentucky for work and today when we got back, 1,000 high school students had checked into our hotel,” Johnson wrote on her Facebook page Wednesday. “They had been making quite the ruckus tonight, but then did this to celebrate the start of the Olympics. Not the best video, (cause my fear kept me pretty far from the edge) but that’s 18 levels of them singing! Amazing!”
Singing together from every floor of the hotel, the students were met with thunderous applause. You'll probably enjoy it as well:
UPDATE 12:11 p.m.: The above video was reportedly shot in 2013, according to a Twitter user.
The high school students were apparently in Louisville for the Kentucky All State Choir (which would explain everything about the video).
"The original was uploaded last year. The poster on FB was being disingenuous, to put it nicely," one user tweeted.
If he is correct, that would mean that the above video was shot this time last year.
But, you know, even if it turns out that the video is a year old, it's still a great video to put you in the Olympic mood.
UPDATE II: The video is indeed from 2013. Here it is from a better angle:
