We Can Only Imagine What Might Have Happened If There Wasn't Glass In Between This Mom and the Man Who Left Her Little Boy Nearly Brain Dead

For five years, Loubna Khader kept inside her pent-up rage and anguish at the man who left her 2-year-old son nearly brain dead after he chose to drive drunk.

On Thursday, the Texas mother went to the Tarrant County Jail to confront the person who hit her family's car and changed their lives forever.

Five years to the day after the accident, Khader looked into Stewart Richardson's eyes through the glass. She cried. She yelled. She let loose.

"Can you hear me? Can you hear me? Look at this face," the anguished mother said with a framed photograph of her son Abdallah pressed up against the glass. "Look at him."

Though the man in the forest green jumpsuit tried to say he was sorry, the grieving mother didn't want to hear it.

"I don't care about your sorry, don't say it," Khader spit back. "You make me more angry when you say sorry."

"I'm very sorry," Richardson repeated. "I hope God blesses you very much. I don't know how …"

"I don't want to hear you," Khader said, sticking her fingers in her ears. "I just want you to hear me today."

"You say I'm supposed to go home now and my son is going to be OK because you said you're sorry," she cried. "My son is dying every single day. Every single day he's suffering. He can't see. He can't talk. He can't breath. He can't eat. He can't do anything."

Richardson hung his head.

"He's in pain every single day, every single day," said the mother of the boy. He will soon turn 7 years old.

Khader approached KHOU-TV, asking that they be on hand to film her confrontation with Richardson, who pleaded guilty to drunk driving after the Feb. 21, 2009 accident. His blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit, the news station reported.

Though he pleaded guilty, KHOU reported that he is awaiting trial for more serious charges that could come with a lifetime prison sentence. Richardson had been charged in other states with driving under the influence prior to this incarceration.

Richardson told the mother he is sorry and that he keeps a photo of Abdallah. He said he prays for him.

"You say you have a picture of my son in your cell? Don't touch it. Don't touch it. He's an angel. And you're the devil and you're not supposed to touch an angel."

"I'm never going to forgive you. I'm never going to forgive you for what you did to my son," Khader yelled, smacking the glass with a dull thud.

"Never."
