The Republican governor received a mixed reaction from the audience, with Perry offering to Kimmel the liberal leanings of the red state's capital city: "I tell people, Austin's kind of the blueberry in the tomato soup, in the state."
Perry talked about his stance on decriminalizing marijuana in the Lone Star state, saying, "You don't want to ruin a kid's life for having a joint."
Perry also talked about his musical skills (he plays the drums), famously shooting a coyote while jogging, and about the possibility of making another run for the White House in 2016.
While not revealing any specifics about his 2016 intentions, he told Kimmel: "America is a great place for second chances. Let's just leave it at that."
