Benched Hockey Goalie Makes the Most of His Free Time in Funny Game Clip That's Going Viral
March 23, 2014
The YouTube clip gained widespread attention over the weekend; it's eclipsed half a million views as of Sunday afternoon.
It was supposed to be Shannon Szabados' big night.
The gold medal-winning Canadian Women's Olympic goalie became the first female to suit up for a game in the Southern Professional Hockey League last Saturday.
To that end her new team, the Columbus (Ga.) Cottonmouths, placed her new teammate — goalie Andrew Loewen — on the bench so Szabados could make history in the net.
But during an intermission, Loewen snared some camera time that's making quite the viral impression all on its own, noted CBS Sports.

Loewen, decked out in all his body pads, joined the Cottonmouths' dance team for their rendition of "The Wobble."

Gotta hand it to the guy, pulling it off to the roar of the crowd with attire that's not exactly spandex.
