The 'Top 10 Absurd Quotes' by Sen. Lindsey Graham That Drove Glenn Beck Absolutely Wild

"You're South Carolina! What the hell happened to you?"

Glenn Beck has routinely called South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham one of the "worst" members of the United States Senate. So when the conservative organization FreedomWorks released a list of the "top 10 absurd quotes" by the senator, Beck couldn't resist reading it on his radio program Wednesday.

"This is fantastic," Beck said. "I want all those who are thinking about voting for Lindsey Graham to really revel in exactly who this guy is, and what he's brought to your great state … [and], because of the progressive movement, he affects the entire nation."

Beck and his radio co-hosts, Pat Gray and Stu Burguiere, began with an op-ed Graham co-authored with then-Senate colleague John Kerry in the New York Times in 2009. The piece was titled, "Yes We Can (Pass Climate Change Legislation)."

“We agree that climate change is real and threatens our economy and national security. That is why we are advocating aggressive reductions in our emissions of the carbon gases that cause climate change,” the op-ed read.

Beck added with disgust that Graham was the sole Republican cosponsor of cap and trade in the Senate with Kerry and former Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.).

He continued to quote the senator as saying, “Free speech is a great idea, but we’re in a war,” and "We need to raise taxes to get our nation out of debt.” Beck was also appalled that Graham called Sen. Rand Paul's question about whether Americans can be killed without trial "offensive."

"Any conservative can tell you you don't have free speech, you might be killed having a cup of coffee, and wants to raise taxes -- how can you get more conservative than that?" Burguiere said with heavy sarcasm. "I can't imagine a more conservative set of positions!"

"South Carolina, can I ask you a question?" Beck added. "Does he have pictures on all of you? Does he go door to door and, you are going to vote for [Senate candidate Lee Bright], but [he says], 'I don't think you are going to do that, because I have got this picture of you...' Is that what it is? I mean, I don't know what it is!"

He continued: "South Carolina has really good common sense ... we would not be talking about this if it was California, or if it was any other place. If it were any other state, we wouldn't be saying this, but you're South Carolina! What the hell happened to you?"
